Membership Booth Volunteer

Description:

Membership Booth volunteers work the frontline for Membership sales and service.

Responsibilites:

--Staff the Membership Booth in the Lobby

--Promote and sell Museum of Science Memberships

--Stay apprised of all Museum events, exhibits, and shows/presentations

--Be prepared to answer general Museum questions and specific Membership and Member-related questions

--Make Museum Members and visitors feel comfortable and welcome

Qualifications:

--Minimum age requirement of 18 years old

--Willingness and ability to work with guests

--Must be comfortable working on a computer

--Sense of humor and helpful and genial manner

--Ability to troubleshoot and handle problems calmly and efficiently

Commitments:

Volunteers must be able to commit to an absolute minimum of 4 to 6 months (but ideally 1 year), for one of these 3-hour shifts outlined below:

*Monday afternoons 1pm-4pm

*2nd & 4th Saturdays of the month, and maybe a 5th Saturday if one comes up on the calendar, from 1pm-4pm

Additionally, attendance at the New Volunteer Orientation session is required.
